This role implements accounting processes, systems and controls for a product and is responsible for product profitability analysis. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts .

Accountable for the execution of business plan and for governance and compliance at an operational level. Generates financial information. Analyses and reports on variances. Maintains suitable financial control environment.

Bachelor Of Finance in Accounting Finance

Demonstrated knowledge of accounting processes

Experience in business planning and corporate governance

Manages reporting requirements for the business unit.

Drives & collates monthly submission consisting of report and commentary by agreed deadline.

Prepares monthly financial reports for management, including a high-level variance report by agreed deadline.

Produces ongoing and ad-hoc reporting based on requirements.

Manages the budget centre reporting and produces a detailed variance report

Ensures that all financial accounting transactions the team is responsible for, are accurately reflected in the business unit ledger.

Manages the review and reconciliation of the Fixed Asset Register to the general ledger.

Senior Accountant

The incumbent shall ensure cash and treasury management to safeguard and ensure efficient use of the company’s cash resources.

Qualified Professional Accountant ( CA, ACCA or equivalent)

Postgraduate qualification (MBA/MSC) will be an advantage

6 to 8 years experience in a similar or related environment, with a minimum of 2 years in a Management position

Oversees the compilation of the group companies/subsidiaries’ funding requirements particularly involving foreign currency and ensures that all group requirements are monitored centrally.

Liaises with the banks and agrees on funding plans to ensure that key group commitments are met.

Determines the allocation of weekly Ecocash collections to the different banks and advises the team on the utilization of the funds.

Designs and implements systems of internal control around payments and banking to safeguard the Company’s cash resources.

Supervises supplier payments and enforces release of statutory payments such as VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, and POTRAZ license fees on due dates.

Oversees submission of periodic foreign loans status reports to the exchange control department.

Ensures that all Group Companies’ requirements are collated and representations made to the central bank to ensure that the approval given is adequate to cover the group’s annual requirements.

For key-related party contracts, monitor the exchange control approvals as well as review the documentation for renewal applications for submission to the bank. Also, review the monthly charges for the monthly invoice to ensure compliance with the bank conditions.

For all agreements under which exports are processed, approve the PTS1 forms in line with RBZ requirements as well as ensure acquittal of the same within the specified 90days. For all exceptions, reviews applications for extensions and engages the banks to ensure that the company is not in breach.

Engages daily with banks to ensure that the company’s foreign payments are prioritized and negotiates for foreign currency allocations towards the payments.

Manages and maintains the roadmap, in liaison with the Technology Services department, for the development of all application systems and software that are required to execute financial deliverables.

Develops the necessary plans to ensure that the Department meets its agreed goals and objectives, meets departmental staff every month, identifies and agrees on key result areas, key objectives/tasks, and action plans.

Financial Controller

The role will be responsible for turning the converged digital experience envisioned by the business product owners into enabling converged digital platforms. The role will also contribute to shaping the desired digital experience by advising on technology trends and constraints, taking into account business constraints and goals.

The overall responsibility shall be to implement the OM Fintech Software Engineering Practice in relation to feasibility and economic value analysis, design, and development of integrated digital systems, encompassing mobile apps, web, USSD, SMS, mobile payments, workflow systems, Microservices and core financial and insurance information systems.

The Software Engineer is expected to produce and implement functional software solutions working with upper management to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects.
In this role, the incumbent should be able to work independently with little supervision, should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills and hands-on experience in software development and agile methodologies and use these to develop high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals.

Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT): Engineering (Required)

Agile software development methodologies including scrum, lean & kanban

Knowledge of software architecture & construction

Must be creative and has experience in design and software prototyping

Experience with mobile applications, mobile payments, etc.

Work closely with business and other IT teams to advise on technical feasibility, and engineering solution options.

Estimate economic value, cost, risk of the alternative engineering solution options

Recommend the optimal systems structure and design with its associated cost, value & risk.

Work closely with procurement team in external sourcing of software systems ensuring convergence to architectural design goals and economic value goals

Work closely with legal and project managers to shape software contracts ensuring contracts address architecture and economic value goals of software systems.

Work closely with other stakeholders to accurately estimate work schedules.

Lead and practically demonstrate established OM Fintech Software Engineering process practice – beginning from inception, prototyping, build, testing, deployment and launch, with a focus on agile development, DevOps and software engineering process automation.

Identify, evaluate, recommend, deploy and enforce the use of relevant software engineering process automation and productivity tools.

Lead and directly participate in the detailed design of integrated digital systems composed of web and mobile front ends, USSD, SMS, mobile payment gateways, Microservices, workflow systems, financial and insure information systems.

Lead and directly participate in the coding of the integrated digital systems.

Lead and directly participate in the configuration and deployment of software solutions.

Provide second level engineering support to the deployed systems.

Leverage your engineering prowess to implement the businesses engineering strategy

Proactively propose and demonstrate through proofs of concept new innovative ideas.
